Why Government Affairs?

Why do REALTORS® get involved in Government Affairs? Because actions taken by all levels of government can severely impact our ability to make a living and provide great service to our clients. Government actions can slow, complicate, and even stop people from successfully completing their most important personal financial action — homeownership. We work to encourage good government for four main reasons:

To ensure REALTORS® can conduct their businesses freely and effectively.
To keep homeownership affordable for Utahns.
To strengthen our local housing market and economy.
To improve our quality of life.

REALTORS® can promote good government by educating elected officials about smart public policy, by supporting good candidates, and by running for office and getting involved in the government process.
