Why is RISCO upgrading our RISCO KEYS?
Because our members and the SLBR have asked them to improve the system, RISCO has made the following changes:

1. The new key connects through a USB to your computer and automatically updates...NO MORE CALLING FOR UPDATE CODES!

2. When the key is updated you automatically get an email showing the homes that you have visited and the REALTORS® that have been in YOUR listings! No more reading it from each lockbox!

3. The new key has a long life rechargeable battery that charges while you update!

You can now adjust options (like Call Before Showing) on your boxes via the internet from the comfort of your home or office!

As a service of the Salt Lake Board, members may acquire a RISCO ReaderKEY & RediSAFE to access listings throughout Utah (excluding Park City and St. George areas). This system provides a secure way to protect your clients and gives them peace of mind knowing who is in their home at all times. At the same time the RISCO system allows easy access for your fellow REALTORS® to show your properties. ReaderKEYs are available to lease with a $50.00 deposit and a prorated yearly lease of $160.28 ($12.50/month). RediSAFEs are available to purchase for $103.64 (as of July 1, 2007).

How to get a key:

REALTORS®:

Keys are available for active members of the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS® after they have completed the following steps:

1. Complete the Code of Ethics requirements. Classes may be completed at the board or as an online course.

2. Sign up to attend the New Member Orientation class offered at the Salt Lake Board. This is a live course that you must attend.

3. You and your broker must fill out and sign the ReaderKEY Lease Agreement and the RediSAFE purchase agreement. Please bring these documents with you when picking up the key and/or safes.

Assistants

Assistant keys are available for purchase only. The cost is a one time payment of $85.00 per key. These keys will only release shackles for the agent the assistant is working for; it will not release any key trays for any RediSAFEs. The REALTOR® must come in personally to purchase the key for their assistant(s), and must fill out the Assistant Key Purchase Agreement.

Affiliates

Affiliate members may also lease keys to provide their related services. Examples: home inspection, pest control, photography, etc. Affiliates must complete the following steps:

1. Refer to the Affiliate ReaderKEY lease agreement section 5 parts a, b, and c. Affiliates must provide proof of all three parts upon receiving key.

2. You must fill out and sign the Affiliate ReaderKEY Lease Agreement. Please bring this form with you when you are ready to pick up your key.

3. Complete the Code of Ethics requirements. Classes may be completed at the board or as an online course.

Appraisers

In order for an appraiser to lease a ReaderKEY, he/she must complete the following steps:

1. Complete the Code of Ethics requirements. Classes may be completed at the board or as an online course.

2. Refer to the Appraiser ReaderKEY Lease Agreement section 5a. Please bring this documentation in with you when picking up the key.

3. Sign, read and understand the Appraiser ReaderKEY Lease Agreement. Bring the signed agreement with you upon leasing your key.
