Bill Heiner Comments on Case-Shiller Index
Bill Heiner, president of the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS, was
interviewed by KSL Radio on Dec. 28 regarding a Case-Shiller report
that showed house-price declines in several U.S. cities.
Heiner noted that while home prices have fallen in Salt Lake, the worst price declines are behind us.
"Our declines are much less severe than other areas of the country," Heiner said. "In 2011, we expect some price gains, but with a high number of foreclosures and short sales prices will remain unchanged."
Heiner noted that Salt Lake home prices have fallen 17 percent since June 2007, much less severe than other cities.
