Bill Heiner Featured on KSL Radio

Bill Heiner, president of the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS, was interviewed during a live broadcast on KSL News radio on Wednesday, Sept. 29.

Heiner said that August home sales in the Salt Lake area showed an increase over July (7 percent increase), suggesting that buyers were beginning again to return to the market following the April 30 expiration of the federal home buyer tax credit.

Year-to-date (January through August), Heiner said home sales were up 2 percent compared to the same eight-month period last year.

He also pointed out that while home sales in Salt Lake County this past summer (June, July and August) were down compared to the summer of 2009 (down 24 percent), the tax credit created a surge of home sales this past winter (December, January and February). This past winter sales were up 17 percent compared to the previous winter.
