Housing Prices To Stabilize in 2011, Sales To Increase
Jasen Lee, a reporter for the Deseret News, covered this year's 2011
Salt Lake Housing Forecast breakfast. Lee's story ran on Jan. 12 at the
top of the business page.
"Finally, some good news on the Salt Lake area housing front," Lee said. "The worst of the housing and economic crisis is likely over, economists predicted, which should mean stable prices and increasing sales in 2011."
Lee cited the 2011 report commissioned by the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS which said Salt Lake's improving job market is an important key to normalizing the local housing market.
He also quoted Lawrence Yun, chief economist of the National Association of REALTORS and this year's Forecast Breakfast keynote speaker, as saying that Utah's economic growth is usually twice as fast as the nation's.
