More REALTORS Throwing in the Towel
Utah ranks second in the nation in the largest drop in REALTOR
membership numbers. KSL News Radio on Oct. 25 featured a story on the
state's declining REALTOR numbers.
As of September 2010, there were 13,536 REALTORS in Utah, down 12.63 percent compared to the same month a year earlier. Georgia had the biggest percentage drop at 12.7 percent.
The Salt Lake Board of REALTORS, which makes up nearly half the state's REALTOR population, had 5,366 REALTORS in September, down 23 percent compared to 6,936 REALTORS in the same month last year.
However, the drop in numbers may have reached bottom. From August to September the number of REALTORS statewide increased 0.23 percent (11,800 vs. 13, 536).
At the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS, there was a 6 percent increase in the number of REALTORS in September compared to August (5,366 vs. 5,080).
