Code of Ethics

All board members must complete the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics Training every four years (also known as Quadrennial NAR Code of Ethics Training requirement). We are currently in our third training cycle, which means that all board members must complete this training between 2009 and 2012.

There are three options available for completing this ongoing REALTOR® education requirement.

Option 1: Live Instruction

  • Complete a live class at the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS (free to active members)
  • Worth three core hours (3 CORE CE Hrs) toward license renewal

Option 2: Free National Association of REALTORS Online Instruction

  • Complete a free ONLINE class through the NAR (No CE Credit) by following these instructions:

Step 1 - Go to www.realtor.org and register as a first-time user using your NRDS number (this number is the same as your SLBR Login I.D.)

Step 2 - Under "Site by Topic" click on the "Education" link.

Step 3 - Click on the "Code of Ethics Training" link, then on the "Take Training Now" link.

Step 4 - New members will select the "New Member Code of Ethics Orientation" course and existing members will select the "Quadrennial Ethics Training course.

Option 3: Online Instruction

  • Complete an online class through the CE Shop to receive Continuing Education credit (3 CORE CE Hrs) towards license renewal and to fulfill the National Association of REALTORS® requirement
  • Visit slrealtors.theceshop.com, and complete the Cracking the Code of Ethics Course

*Members who complete this training online or through any other provider besides their local board must provide a certificate of completion in order to receive credit toward membership requirement.
